We’ve reached the end of another busy School Year at the International School of Bremen! It’s been such a productive time, with lots of success to celebrate and quality learning experiences for all our students!

End of May we said goodbye to our Grade 12 students. We’d like to wish them all the very best of luck and happiness for their future as they move on to their chosen destination, don't forget the ISB Alumni!

This week in June we bid a fond farewell to families leaving our Community to move on to new places and adventures.  We thank them all for their contribution to the ISB Community and wish them well, and please keep in touch.

Fortunately the weather stayed dry last weekend despite the storm clouds. The PTA did the school proud with their excellent organisation of this year's Summer BBQ - well done and a huge thank you! It was a super ISB family event offering something for everyone. The highlight was a volley ball tournament between parents, students and staff (the parent team won!), a bouncy castle, a putting range, the ever popular photo box, generous raffle prizes and of course the yummy BBQ itself. Everyone seemed to have a good time!

The International School of Bremen is proud to announce that the recent ISQM accreditation re-confirmed the School’s Silver “Good” status. We have improved our position and have now received Silver “Good” or better in all of the 8 areas which were assessed. We have clear advice to help the School move forward and achieve Gold on their next visit.

During the three days of accreditation, the team members observed over 40 lessons, two learning walks were carried out and two assemblies were observed. The accreditation team held 16 meetings, during which discussions with staff, students, parents and the Director took place. The team also scrutinised students’ work. As you can see, this was a comprehensive review of the School and its practice.

Elementary school students always look forward to the fun events at Sports Day - a ISB summer term highlight and this year was no exception on 5th June. The sun shone and students took part in on the different activities and worked well together. Enjoying the space bouncer races, relay races, water cup race, used their basket ball skills and lastly everyone's favorite "Tug of War". All ISB Houses, Roland, Schoor, Hanse and Lloyd were well represented.

Big thanks go to the P.E. department staff for organising the event and the vital parental support with handing out water and fruit to students.

On Wednesday, 8th May, students and teachers from the ISB’s Music Enrichment Programme (MEP) performed during both the Elementary and Secondary Assembly times, presenting  a wide variety of musical styles/ genres on various instruments, in ensembles, duos and solos: classic, folk, ballades, ragtime, film music, world music, rock, blues, funk and numerous self-composed pieces from MEP teacher Franz Powalla in collaboration with  students, closing with the CAS (Creativity-Action-Service)  band.

Many thanks for all the hard work, determination, collaboration and support of those involved in the ISB community - students, teachers and parents.

Grade 11 IB Physics and Chemistry students went on a "science adventure" in Geneva. One of the highlights of their trip was visiting the CERN Science Center - an amazing opportunity to learn more about the "mysteries of the universe" and see one of the worlds biggest physics laboratories.
