Admission Process
At the International School of Bremen, we want to ensure that our students are admitted to the school in a rapid and straightforward process whilst ensuring that we are the right environment for them to develop and progress to their potential.
Therefore, our admissions process has three simple steps:
A completed registration form must be submitted together with your latest school report or predicted IGCSE grades. We will then contact you to arrange a face-to-face or via Skype interview with the Director and/or the Head of Secondary. Our aim is to ensure you are on the correct course so we will talk to you about your aims and ambitions and help ensure your personal learning plan is tailored to achieving them. This is also your opportunity to get to know us and to ask any questions you may have about the school and courses. Following a successful interview, we will send you a formal offer letter along with the acceptance documents with details of the acceptance deadline and how to accept your place at the school.
We will keep you updated on the progress of your application and inform you of the next steps that need to be taken. You are welcome to contact us via telephone or e-mail at any point throughout the process should you have any questions.

Admissions Policy for those applying for a Boarding Place
It must be appreciated that students applying for a boarding place will be committing to a way of life that brings additional challenges and is a different experience from those students who study whilst still living at home and in the direct care of the parents or guardians. Whilst the International School of Bremen recognises the very many positive aspects of the boarding experience, the staff are aware of the challenges faced by young students of living away from home and the admissions process will reflect this awareness.
This policy concerns admissions to the school for boarding students aged 16+ For the IB programme. The Independent School of Bremen (ISB) selects Boarders on performance at interview, previous educational record (including prior school references), entrance tests (if appropriate) and assessment of special needs. No prospective student is offered a place at the school without sitting an interview either in person or via electronic media (IE Skype interview).
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, irrespective of nationality, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation or disability. Human rights and freedoms are respected but must be balanced with the lawful needs of our school community and the rights and freedoms of others. Not all age ranges are catered for in the boarding house (16 years +) and our facilities and capacity to deliver appropriate programmes for students with various kinds of disability (including special educational needs) are not all-encompassing.
